Strataglass Care and Maintenance
The importance of regular care
Strataglass® VueShield™ is an advanced scratch‑resistant coating that helps protect your enclosure from fine surface marks caused by everyday use—washing, drying, rolling panels up and down, and abrasion from roll-up straps. VueShield also adds UV protection and shields the surface from environmental fallout.
To clean and maintain your Strataglass, always use Strataglass Protective Cleaner and Strataglass Protective Polish as outlined below. Both products are made by IMAR and are available from your Strataglass provider or preferred marine retailer. Using non-approved cleaners or protectants can damage the material and will void the warranty.
ALWAYS
- Use Strataglass Protective Cleaner immediately to remove any harmful liquids, creams, chemicals, or sprays that come in contact with the surface.
- Keep a bottle of Strataglass Protective Cleaner on board for quick spot cleaning.
NEVER
- Use Windex, Rain‑X, Pledge, Plexus, Simple Green, Orpine, or any other harsh cleaner on Strataglass products. This will void the warranty.
- Use car wax or any “wash and wax” product on Strataglass. This will void the warranty.
- Use cleaners, polishes, scratch removers, or any products designed for commercial‑grade vinyl or plastic. These can damage Strataglass and void the warranty.

Rinsing Strataglass Curtains
After every outing, rinse your Strataglass curtains thoroughly with clean, fresh water to remove salt and other environmental particles. Let them air dry or gently dry them with a high-quality chamois or microfiber towel.
Note for new Strataglass owners:
New clear vinyl is soft and easily marked. Keep new Strataglass enclosure panels installed and securely fastened to the boat as much as possible so they can stabilize. If you need to remove and stack the curtains, carefully place a soft fabric, such as a bed sheet, between each panel to prevent impressions.
Over time, clear vinyl will strengthen and become less impressionable. Whenever the boat is not in use, always close and fasten the Strataglass enclosure panels. This helps preserve clarity and significantly extends the life of your curtains.
Cleaning Strataglass Curtains
We recommend this cleaning step every 1–2 weeks. Spray Strataglass Protective Cleaner directly onto the inside and outside surfaces, or onto a soft cotton or microfiber cloth. Gently wipe the surface to remove dirt and residues. If needed, buff dry with a clean, dry cloth.
Always keep Strataglass Protective Cleaner on board for quick spot cleaning of any harmful liquids, creams, chemicals, or sprays that come in contact with the Strataglass surface.

Polishing Strataglass Curtains
For best results, repeat this polishing process every 1–2 months. This is the single most important maintenance step to extend the life of your Strataglass curtains and keep the warranty in effect.
Make sure the Strataglass is clean and completely dry. Apply a light coat of Strataglass Protective Polish to both the inside and outside surfaces, using small, gentle circular motions with a soft cotton cloth or applicator pad. Allow the polish to dry briefly, then lightly buff with a clean, dry cotton or microfiber cloth to achieve a clear, smooth shine.
Apply Strataglass Protective Polish every 1–2 months, especially when the enclosure is new. With regular use, the polish will build a durable protective barrier over time.
