New Strataglass Box Handholds and Inner Core Protection System

Strataglass Team
Strata Core

At Strataglass, innovation isn’t limited to the performance of our marine enclosure products—it extends to every detail of how those products are delivered. From the moment our materials leave the facility until they reach fabricators and customers, packaging plays a critical role in preserving quality and ensuring ease of use. That’s why we’re excited to introduce two important packaging upgrades designed to improve handling, reduce environmental impact, and better protect Strataglass products in transit and storage.

Improved Handling with New Punchout Handholds

Strataglass has recently added punchout handholds to the exterior of each box, providing a simple yet highly effective ergonomic improvement. These built-in handholds make lifting and carrying significantly easier for distributors, fabricators, and installers.

By promoting proper lifting techniques, this design helps reduce the risk of back strain and workplace injuries. In addition, the handholds discourage dragging boxes across floors—a common practice that can damage packaging and compromise the integrity of the product inside. The result is safer handling, fewer damaged shipments, and a better overall experience from warehouse to worksite.

Introducing the Internal Core Packaging Protection System

In addition to external handling improvements, Strataglass has redesigned its internal packaging with a new Core Packaging Protection System. This innovative approach replaces the traditional round tube with a protective cardboard sleeve that surrounds and stabilizes Strataglass bundles.

This new system offers multiple advantages. It enhances overall product protection during shipping and storage, while also improving airflow around the vinyl sheets—an important factor in maintaining product quality. The updated design also makes handling on fabrication tables easier and more efficient.

Perhaps most notably, the new system eliminates the adhesive chemicals that were previously used in manufactured round tubes. This change supports cleaner packaging practices and aligns with growing industry demand for safer, more environmentally responsible materials.

Key Advantages of the New Core Packaging System

  • Significantly reduced adhesive chemicals within packaging contents
  • Improved recyclability and easier disposal
  • Reduced use of paper and raw materials
  • Lighter overall packaging weight
  • Lower packaging costs, contributing to greater efficiency across the supply chain

A Better Packaging Experience from Start to Finish

These packaging enhancements reflect Strataglass’s ongoing commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. By focusing on both ergonomics and environmental responsibility, we’re delivering not just a superior product but also a smarter, more efficient way to handle it.

As the marine industry continues to evolve, Strataglass remains dedicated to finding new ways to improve every aspect of our products—from performance on the water to protection in transit.
